Code Enforcement
It is the responsibility of the Borough Code Enforcement Office to administer the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC)
which will be adopted by the
Borough of Gettysburg in April of 2010.
The Borough of Gettysburg
has contracted with Commonwealth Code Inspection Service,
Inc. (CCIS) to provide code inspection and enforcement services.
Mr. Dale Gettel, of CCIS, is the Borough's Code
Enforcement Officer and has an office in the Borough
Office Building. Anyone with code
questions or concerns should contact Dale Gettel at
codeenforcement@gettysburg-pa.gov
.
The Code Enforcement Office is also responsible for monitoring property maintenance, solid waste removal and recycling, snow and ice removal from
sidewalks, and nuisances such as accumulations of trash and debris, storage of junked or abandoned vehicles, dangerous structures, grass and weeds in excess of
8 inches and
items that impact the health, safety and welfare of the residents and visitors of the Borough of Gettysburg.
The Code Enforcement Office also enforces the Regulated Rental Unit Occupancy Ordinance.
